So many times, we tend to pass judgment too harshly and too quickly. Each week, after we have had a chance to digest the game, here at DawgBones.com we will break down the Cleveland Browns game from the week before. Let us look at the top 5 good things, the top 5 bad things and the top 5 things that failed to impress us in this week’s game. The segment is called 20/20 Browns Hindsight we hope you enjoy it.

Top 5 Good Things: Bengals Game

1. This is another week in which it is going to be difficult to find 5 good things, but alas we will try. Without a doubt the play of CB Leigh Bodden is head and shoulders the best thing about the Browns defense. Not only did he do another masterful job on All Pro WR Chad Johnson, he intercepted Carson Palmer again. Add in 3 more pass defenses and you have another solid performance by Bodden this past Sunday.

2. The Browns may have been beaten and the execution was poor again, but they were physical with the Bengals. The Browns put 3 Bengals starters out for at least 2 weeks and Johnson was knocked senseless by Brian Russell in the 4th quarter. Once the execution matches the effort this team might actually get a win.

3. The offensive line bounced back nicely after giving up 5 sack in week one they shutout a Bengals defense that got 7 sacks in their season opener. The line's pass protection at this point seems to be light years ahead of their run blocking.

4. OLB Kamerion Wimbley continues to show flashes of his potential greatness. Not only did he get his 1st pro start, he also got his 1st sack in the NFL on Sunday. Wimbley also had 3 tackles and 2 QB hurries on the day. This kid is one of the best players the Browns have on defense, he's scary good and is making a nice transition from DE to OLB.

5. The knock on safety Brian Russell has always been he doesn't like contact, Chad Johnson would probably disagree. Russell's hit on Johnson was not only bone jarring, but it sends a statement to WR's throughout the league. come across the middle against the Browns and you will pay the price. It will definitely affect how Chad Johnson plays against the Browns in the future.

Top 5 Bad Things: Bengals Game

1. The run defense shows up here for the 2nd straight week and coincidently the Browns lost again. This time the unit allowed 160 yards on the ground and 2 Rudi Johnson TD's. Until the defense gets better against the run the Browns will lose the time of possession battle and ultimately the game.

2. The teams 3rd down defense comes in right behind the run defense for the 2nd straight week. This time, believe it or not, it was worse then in week 1. The Bengals converted 53% of their 3rd down opportunities on Sunday, another huge factor for the Browns losing on Sunday.

3. The dropped passes are killing the Browns. WR Braylon Edwards had 3 and RB Ruben Droughns added another. Not only are they drive killers, but the drops are being caught by the opponent! The turnovers are bad enough, but the fact is they could be avoided if the Browns would just hold on to the ball.

4. The Browns 3rd down conversion ratio is abysmal. They were just 2 of 10 against the Bengals and that comes on the heels of a 5 for 12 effort against the Saints. The fact the team is regressing is very alarming.

5. Injuries! It now appears that the Browns may be without starters Gary Baxter, Orpheus Roye, Ruben Droughns, Joe Jurevicius, Daylon McCutcheon and Willie McGinest against the Ravens this Sunday. Anyone feeling like we are back in the Butch Davis days?

Top 5 things that failed to impress: Bengals Game

1. The fact that TE Kellen Winslow is on the bench on 3rd and short is inexcusable! The fact that the coaches don't have him in is absurd. No wonder the team only converted 2 of 10 on 3rd downs.

2. The play of Josh Cribbs on special teams has been a bright spot this year, but his boneheaded play where he tackled would be returner Keiwan Ratliff, who was calling for a fair catch at his own 7 yard line, hurt the team badly. The penalty for the foul was 15 yards and took the Bengals off their own goal line which in turn changed the way their play calling would have been.

3. The Browns won the field position battle all day, the fact that they did very little with it on both sides of the ball was very unimpressive. Typically field position has a huge impact on the outcome of a game, but not when you are the Cleveland Browns of 2006.

4. Sure WR Braylon Edwards made some nice plays, like his 75 yard reception where he dragged the Bengals safety for 12 yards, but his inconsistency catching the ball his hurting the team. QB Charlie Frye insists he will keep going to him, but how long that lasts will depend on how many more balls Edwards puts on the turf. Hard to be the "go-to guy" when you are dropping everything that comes your way.

5. Once again rookie ILB D'Qwell Jackson got the start over veteran Chaun Thompson and once again he was outplayed by him. Someone on the Browns coaching staff must realize that Thompson is the most versatile LB on the team, right?
