We have known for some time that the Cleveland Browns would be well represented in Hawaii in the 2007 NFL Pro Bowl, what we now know is that there will be 6 Cleveland Browns there. Monday it was announced that both TE Kellen Winslow II and QB Derek Anderson would be making the trip to Hawaii.
It will be the first pro bowl for both Anderson and Winslow as both TE Antonio Gates and QB Tom Brady will not play due to injury. The duo join fellow Browns Joe Thomas, Joshua Cribbs, Braylon Edwards and Ryan Pontbriand at the annual NFL classic. It will be the first time since 2001, when LB Jamir Miller went, that the Browns will be represented in the game. It is also the 1st time since 1994 that the team sent 6 players.
It will be interesting how the Browns handle the additional accolades in their negotiations with Anderson who is a restricted free agent. Clearly the exposure the game will give him will increase his value both to the Browns and on the open market. The team has been rumored to have offered Anderson a 3 year deal over the past week, but he is looking for more guaranteed money and a longer deal, 5 years or more.
