Cleveland sports bonanza

Cleveland appears to be about to enter a golden age, sports-wise that is. Lake Erie will soon have be filled with the cheers of throngs of sports fans with something, or some team to root for.

The Cleveland Browns will face stiff competition in the AFC North, but they finally have a franchise quarterback to compete with Pittsburgh’s Ben Roethlisberger and Cincinnati’s Carson Palmer. If the improves, then the Browns and the Dawg Pound will rooting into January deep into the NFL playoffs.

The Browns are also counting on Jamal Lewis to deliver a performance like 2007, when he ran for over 1,300 yards on 4.4 yards a carry. He took pressure off Derek Anderson and allowed him to hook up with wide receiver Braylon Edwards for 16 touchdowns and tight end Kellen Winslow for 82 receptions and over 1,000 yards. The offense alone is a reason to get Cleveland Browns tickets for the 2008 season.

Of course, after football season is over fans don’t have to hibernate until baseball season. LeBron James drives the crowds at Quicken Loan Arena into frenzy nearly every night. His tremendous combination of brute strength and awe-inspiring grace has every kid in the nation wishing they were him and every single basketball fan in Cleveland searching for Cavs tickets.

He means to NBA tickets around the league what Michael Jordan once met, a sure sell out in any city he plays. The Cavs are not just a one man show though. A huge mid-season trade brought them the pieces they needed to be a contender for the next few seasons. Ben Wallace adds the All-NBA defense that frustrates opposing coaches, Zydrunas Ilgauskas is still a monster over seven feet tall, no matter how his foot is feeling, and Wally Szczerbiak gives the team spot shooting from anywhere on the floor.

The Cleveland Indians are in similar position to the Cavaliers. They are ready to break out after winning the American League Central in 2007. They may be off to a poor start this season, but they have a future atop the division with three young starting pitchers (2007 AL Cy Young winner C.C. Sabathia, Cliff Lee, and Aaron Laffey) and future all stars center fielder Grady Sizemore and shortstop Jhonny Peralta. Indians tickets will soon be a great buy once again.
