Notes |
|
1. Indianapolis
Colts(10-1) |
2 |
They look to have found a running
game finally and it has brought back balance to the best offense in
football. The defense is still suspect, but they can out score
anyone and may have to. |
2.
New
England Patriots(8-3) |
2 |
We thought they may school the Bears
on what a championship football team is, we just never thought it
would be so sloppy. For a time it looked like neither team wanted to
win that game. The Lions are next in line and so is win #9. |
3.
Baltimore
Ravens(9-2) |
2 |
It's time we give this team some
respect. They throttled the defending Super Bowl champion Steelers
from start to finish. A shutout in the NFL is impressive no matter
who you are or who you play. The Bengals are desperate and will not
be a friendly host Thursday night. |
4.
Chicago
Bears(9-2) |
3 |
When Rex Grossman is bad, he's really
bad. The Bears defense is outstanding, but they still aren't good
enough to overcome all of Grossman's bad play. Don't look now, but
the Cowboys are coming! |
5.
San
Diego Chargers(9-2) |
3 |
Sure they won, but it was because of
a total BS call by the officials. Just when you think things are
good, the NFL officials make you think the fix is in all over again! |
6. Dallas
Cowboys(7-4) |
1 |
They aren't just playing good
football, they are playing dominate football. They have good balance
on both sides of the ball. The only thing that scares us now is
their field goal kicker, the Hamburglar! |
7.
New
Orleans Saints(7-4) |
2 |
A nice bounce back win against a
division foe has the Saints all alone a top the NFC South. They have
the best divisional record of any NFC team right now. The Niners are
coming to town this week and they should get win #8. |
8. Kansas
City Chiefs(7-4) |
3 |
It appears the defense is as good as
it has been in recent memory and the offense is a running machine.
Going into Cleveland against one of the leagues worst run defenses
could mean a record setting day for RB Larry Johnson. |
9.
Seattle
Seahawks(7-4) |
4 |
The return of starting QB Matt
Hasselbeck and RB Shaun Alexander was huge Monday night. In a game
where points were needed the duo helped the Seahawks offense score
34 in route to a win. They have a 2 game lead in the NFC West and
don't look to be caught this year. |
10. Denver
Broncos(7-4) |
4 |
Two losses in a row and it's time for
a change. Rookie QB Jay Cutler is going to get the nod this week and
looks like the QB the rest of the way in 2006. The playoffs are a
very realistic possibility, but just how far a rookie can take them
is yet too be seen. |
11. Cincinnati
Bengals(6-5) |
3 |
A shutout on the road with the worst
defense in the league is very impressive. Throw in the fact that the
offense is clicking on all cylinders right now and you have a team
primed for a playoff run. They will need to win out in all likely
hood, but we wouldn't bet against them. |
12.
Carolina
Panthers(6-5) |
2 |
The offense is playing below average
and so is QB Jake Delhomme. This team couldn't win without WR Steve
Smith, now they can't win with him. Things are looking like they are
about to un-wind in Charlotte. |
13. Jacksonville
Jaguars(6-5) |
5 |
The yo-yo season continues for the
Jaguars. Up one week, down the next. Their playoff hopes are
diminishing right before our eyes. They travel to play a red hot
Dolphins team that has playoff hopes of their own. Looks like .500
may be waiting for the Jags this week. |
14.
New York
Giants(6-5) |
4 |
A totally devastating loss to the
Titans. After leading 21-0 the Giants found a whole and crawled in
it. Waking to find themselves on the wrong side of a 24-21 loss. The
end is near for the Giants and all hell looks like it is about to
break loose. |
15.
New
York Jets(6-5) |
- |
They had a nice win at home and are
still in the playoff chaser. We don't want you to forget though that
the win was against the Texans. They will play a Packers team that
is struggling at home and that has given up 69 points in the past 2
weeks. |
16. Miami
Dolphins(5-6) |
2 |
There is no team hotter in football
right now then the Dolphins. A resurgent running game and a superb
defense has them very much in the playoff chase. They must win at
home Sunday to keep those dreams alive. |
17. Buffalo
Bills(5-6) |
3 |
All of a sudden the AFC East looks
like a dog fight, at least for 2nd place. The Bills have won 2 in a
row and will be tested at home with the chargers coming to town.
Maybe J.P. Losman has a future after all. |
18. San
Francisco 49ers(5-6) |
1 |
Yes they lost, but they are still a
team on the rise and in another year or two will be a playoff team
for sure. Once they start winning on the road look out! |
19. Minnesota
Vikings(5-6) |
3 |
They snapped their losing streak, but
still almost managed to lose to the Cardinals at home. The playoffs
are not going to happen in 2006 and maybe it's time to see if
Tavaris Jackson is the QB of the future in Minnesota. |
20. St.
Louis Rams(5-6) |
4 |
A win against a division rival is
always a good thing. The Rams have snapped their losing streak as
well, but like the Vikings won't be playing playoff football this
year. |
21.
Atlanta
Falcons(5-6) |
5 |
Could it be? Could Michael Vick be
playing his last games as an Atlanta Falcons QB? After flipping the
bird to the fans this past Sunday it is very possible. Not too
mention the team has now lost 4 straight games. |
22. Philadelphia
Eagles(5-6) |
2 |
The offense wasn't as bad as we
thought without QB Donovan McNabb, but what's with that defense? It
looked like they lost their leader as the Colts rolled them for 45
points and over 400 yards. |
23.
Tennessee
Titans(4-7) |
- |
They had no business winning against
the Giants, but to their credit the never quit. They are the best
4-7 team in the league and the future looks bright, at least if Jeff
Fisher is their coach. |
24.
Washington
Redskins(4-7) |
4 |
The defense looks to be coming to
life a bit. Jason Campbell has not hurt them and looks to have a
bright future. |
25.
Pittsburgh
Steelers(4-7) |
6 |
It looks like they suffered from a
physical game the week before in Cleveland. Not only were they
manhandled, they looked flat. The playoffs are out of the question
now. Now the question is who will coach them in 2007? |
26.
Green
Bay Packers(4-7) |
1 |
They were game Monday night, but the
defense is atrocious. They have given up 69 points in the past 2
weeks and are now last in the NFL in scoring defense. |
27. Houston
Texans(3-8) |
2 |
Yes they lost by 15 on the road, but
it was on the road and honestly there are no 2 or 3 win teams
playing better. They are the cream of the crap. |
28.
Cleveland Browns(3-8) |
2 |
To be shutout at home against the
worst defense in the NFL is all you need to know. The Browns are
spiraling out of control and questions surround the future of
everyone in the franchise. |
29. Oakland
Raiders(2-9) |
3 |
Plain and simple they were screwed by
the officials. Their defense is laying very well, but no team can
over come the zebras. They should have won and because of that we
are treating them as if they did. |
30.
Arizona
Cardinals(2-9) |
- |
Dennis Green is a dead man walking,
but the team still went out and competed for him. They are a huge
disappointment. |
31. Tampa
Bay Buccaneers(3-8) |
4 |
No team has fallen further. After
winning the NFC South last year they are on their way to the #1
overall pick in the draft. Nice job Jon Gruden. |
32.
Detroit
Lions(2-9) |
1 |
They always play tough at home on
Turkey Day, but not this year. GM Matt Millen will finally be shown
the door in the off-season. # years too late if you ask us. |
